HIGH

RISERS

MUSIC & LYRICS BY DAVID FALLON

BOOK & LYRICS BY FRASER SCOTT

As the Commonwealth Games approach and the Scottish Independence Referendum looms, Declan’s home — once the tallest residential building in Europe — is set to be demolished live during the opening ceremony.

Declan inherits his late mother’s flat — along with all her mounting debt. With eviction on the horizon and time running out, Declan’s only shot at stability arrives in the form of Cammy, his brother, who returns with a desperate plan to make some cash. Fast.

High Risers is Declan’s whirlwind tale of home, work, family, and what ultimately ties them together: money. It might not be everything — but it’s a start.

REWRITES 2024

In March 2024, David and Fraser presented new songs from High Risers (formerly Coming Back Around) at REWRITES. Initiated by The Lowry in Manchester, REWRITES is a platform for musicals to showcase new material across the UK. Alumni of REWRITES include Splitlip’s Operation Mincemeat and Finn Anderson’s A Mother’s Song.

High Risers shared the below songs at both The Lowry and MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton.

High Risers has been awarded funding by Creative Scotland for an R&D in August 2025
